Buenas noches a todos,
Hope everyone had a feliz accion de gracias last week! Now that we are back in the swing of things, we can hopefully get on a good school schedule before the holiday break. This week we will be learning more about how to say how we like things and using our new and old adjectives to say why we like them or why not. We will also be making a December calendar, talking about world holidays, and discussing the culture of Puerto Rico which is our featured country in chapter 2. We will probably have a quiz on the likes and dislikes on Friday, 12/2.We will also assign new seats, new groups, new partners, and hopefully a new attitude for some of our students. I'm also hoping to see an improvement in homework and preparation for class this trimester.
Our homework for the week is:
Monday night (lunes noche) - pages 14 and 20A in the packet
Tuesday night (martes noche) - pages 17 and 19A in the packet
Wednesday night ( miercoles noche) - pages 16 and 23 in the packet
Thursday night (jueves noche) -pages 18 and 21 in the packet, study for quiz on gusta(n), vocabulary words and adjectives.
Friday night (viernes noche) - none -nada
Next week: An oral project in front of the class using everything we have learned so far. The students will draw a picture of themselves and the items that they like and dislike, along with their name, age, and where they are from. The audience will take notes on the presentations. We will be putting the pictures up in the hallway as we present. This will count as a test grade. It should be fun. There will also be another quiz on gusta next week and a written test on chapter 2 during the week of December 12th as of right now.
A big thank you (muchas gracias) to all the students who presented their Day of the Dead items in front of the class for the last 2 weeks. They were very interesting and gave us a greater appreciation for our families. Students should be bringing their photos and items home this week. We also enjoyed a great Thanksgiving feast thanks to many food donations. We have some great bakers in Tyngsborough for which we were very thankful.
Hasta luego, Senora Schneider

Week of November 14, 2011
Bienvenidos a todos, (welcome back to everyone),
November has been a crazy month after having a week off due to snow, a short week last week with an assembly, another assembly this week on Thursday, and Thanksgiving next week with 2 1/2 days. We are trying to keep our continuity going this month, but it is very difficult to keep everyone on track.
However, we are having a quiz on Wednesday this week on adjectives, the verb to be, numbers to 100, age, dates, and birthdays. We had a quiz last week and today for some classes just on adjectives. We have started the Day of the Dead presentations. Thanks to all who brought their items in. We have played day of the dead bingo, worked on comparisons of this holiday with Halloween and have seen real Mexican holiday items on line in class. We also did calendars with holiday items.
This weeks homework is
Monday night: page 15 ex. 9 and page 13a ex 7 and 8 in packets. Finish all packet work if you have any empty pages. Clase 3 also in book page 47 ex 4, page 47 ex 8 and 9.
Tuesday night: In book pages 52 ex 16 and page 53 ex 17. Study for quiz
Wednesday night: vocab sheet to be given in class
Thursday night: make your own vocabulary list in section 4 of notebook from pages 56 and 57 in the book. There are 21 words and use the five column method.
Hasta pronto,
Senora
