¡Buenas tardes a todos!
We have been continuing our studies of "AR" verbs and their conjugations, weather expressions, adverbs of time, the verbs "to go =IR", the verb "to want = QUERER", the verb "to play a sport =JUGAR", and the verb "to like = GUSTAR". We have also been focusing on subject pronouns, places to go, the contractions "AL" and "DE", and other nouns that go with the action verbs. We have been busy working in groups, partners and doing whole class activities to use our language skills. The children are really coming along. We are having another quiz this week on Wednesday the 8th and will have more writing of sentences, multiple choice, and fill in the blank. There will be a CHAPTER 3 TEST on Friday the 10th with all of the above mentioned items on it. We will be reviewing all week with more partner and group activities with verb games, connect 4 and more writing. We will also be doing a Valentine's calendar.
This week we will be staying Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for extra help and practice. If you need to make up or retake quizzes, this is the time to do it! I cannot stay this Thursday due to another commitment, however, perhaps Señorita Carvalho will be able to if a student is in need of help.
Homework for this week will be:
lunes noche: Valentine's calendar with 8 colored items about love and Spanish labels and numbers Study
martes noche: Pagina 58 in the paquete we are finishing off. Do both parts. I'm taking the essay. Study.
miercoles noche: Worksheet on pronouns and conjugations that I will give to you. Study.
jueves noche: Paginas 108 and 109 in the book Exercises 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. This is the chapter 3 review.
viernes noche: nada
STUDY!
There will be an ELA MCAS practice tomorrow until 10:00 so there will be shorten classes. We have been noticing that too many students are not completing their homework or class work assignments. I have been asking more students to stay to catch up. If you are behind, you will be staying. Do the work!
Preview next week: video on chapter 3, dialogs and presentation of dialogs with partners, and more "ar" verb practice before we get to "ER" and "IR" verbs. ¡Qué divertido!
Hasta luego, Señora Schneider y Señorita Carvalho
